New music video in the MoO scale...

this piece turned into essentially an entirely and virtually all ELECTRONIC composition. while it's human input and editing, it's hard to say 'performed' or 'composed' in the conventional sense....

Very interesting music and visuals. Looks to me like you're pushing Ben's music work further than he did. Of course, Ben knew absolutely nothing about music until I introduced him to it. He set about trying to find links between his QA formulae (equations) and music theory because he was trying to match QA to Keely's work. Ben was always trying to hitch his cart to other horses.

I feel you are doing more because you do understand music, harmonics, programming, etc.

An important addition to your work would be some way of determining when an interval and its notes are harmonic or enharmonic and by what degree(s). (Other than the ear alone.) I did a program in HyperCard that essentially (but not completely) did this. I don't think it is working right now but it would compute resultant and difference tones between any number of notes (frequencies). Then do an analysis of those resultants. It was crude and limited but it did offer some insight into the awesome creativity of the musically creative harmonic process.

PS: A WORD OF CAUTION. While computing QA notes and their harmonics Ben often destroyed his computer monitors and a time or three woke up on the floor after knocking himself unconscious.

thanks for the kind words. been slow to respond since i rolled over one morning and dislocated my shoulder last week. i think it was caused by a buildup of negative mental energy. i should have known better to let it go and not get caught up 'death & destruction' vibes the media is putting out.

over the years, i've lost plenty of expensive gear to the unpleasant new hampshire weather. not good for much electronic gear: very cold in the winter and hot and humid in the summer.

i've woken up on the floor, many a time. but generally that was due to excessive drinking. thankfully, i've seen to have been able to move beyond that. however, the point is, it varies from individual to individual, that one sometimes 'short-circuits/ upsets the balance' between the various non-material mind componets in our brains.

there's good free data at: http://honesty.org/fry

i've done a lot of experimenting, study and building instruments to produce SOUNDS in the exotic and unfamiliar scales. as a general rule, i frown upon placing too much importance on 'theory' especially math in music. but then again, i've explored a lot of territory and needed to be as practical as possible. in that sense, i'm not a 'music theorist'. but will put some more tables up at QA & Music Scales and see what transpires in terms of getting different perspectives.
